PhysicsWallah, an educational technology platform for engineering and medical entrance exams, recently announced that it has launched its vertical PW skills training to equip people with the right skills and prepare them for new age jobs.
According to the initiative, the courses will initially be free. Later, the comprehensive paid versions will also be very affordable for students compared to other platforms.
PhysicsWallah has engaged several industry experts to teach and train students on software development, data science, digital marketing and product management, among others. Available in English and Hinglish, these courses will offer participants an engaging live experience, placement assistance, query support and much more.
Commenting on the newly launched program, Founder and CEO of PhysicsWallah, Alakh PandeyHe said:
“A large part of India’s youth workforce remains unemployed despite having adequate qualifications. Because they lack the skills needed in today’s job industry. The availability of these skills at a seemingly high cost makes the situation even worse. PW Skills is designed to address these gaps and make job seekers future ready.”
Pandey further added:
“We have roped in top industry experts who have already been through the same roles and understand the domain and job requirements inside and outside it. Our new curriculum has been tested and designed by multiple experts within a given course by domain of expertise. It will be coupled with multiple projects/assignments to provide students with a highly structured learning path.”
PW Skills currently offers two basic coding courses: C++ (5 months) and Java (6 months) for free. It is suitable for 12th grade, graduating students and working professionals. C++ batches have already started, while Java is scheduled to go live on October 21. As part of the same initiative, PW launched its latest free YouTube channel, CollegeWallah, which has already attracted more than two million subscriptions in the first 10 days of its launch.
Co-founded by Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, PhysicsWallah (PW) strives to ensure that money does not stand in the way of achieving your dreams. It prepares students for engineering and medical entrance exams by providing them affordable guidance from reputed teachers. The platform specializes in providing comprehensive lectures and sessions on YouTube, PW app and website for students aspiring for NEET, JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
During the 2020 pandemic, Alakh joined hands with Prateek Maheshwari to work on a technology solution for students by launching the PW app. The startup currently boasts over 87 million subscribers cumulatively on YouTube, with an impressive 4.8 rating on its app.
The latest move comes after the company acquired PrepOnline, an online learning platform for NEET, board exams and state-level exam preparation, and Altis Vortex, a publisher of exam preparation books earlier this month.
PhysicsWallah became India’s 101st unicorn after raising $100 million in its first round of funding from WestBridge Capital and GSV Ventures at a June 2022 valuation of $1.1 billion.
